Shield
I’ve heard a lot of talk lately from various sources about designing a personal energy shield. I think this is a great idea, and I can see plenty of applications in daily life. I don’t imagine that the designers intend it to be used for those reasons, but I might as well dream. I am slightly nervous about military applications of this technology. Imagine already superior armies getting this sort of shield technology and using it to prey upon poor countries. It starts to bring to mind horrifying science fiction scenarios with huge evil armies bombarding the small and poorly equipped (but morally superior) rebel forces. Surely though, something so cinematic cannot happen in real life.
In other news, I’d like to let everyone know that we’re probably going to be changing the site design soon. The aim is to combine the blog and the comic into one page and one post. It will also combine the feeds into one, and the site should look a bit better. It will also probably be better for expansion the in the future. We’ll let you know ahead of time before the upgrade, so that you don’t think we’ve gone away.
